As it is expected the demand for computational research will continue to expand at an increasing rate, HKUST is in the process of developing a cutting-edge facility dedicated to advancing high performance computational research and development across many different fields of study.
Situated adjacent to the Sea Water Pump House and Tsang Shiu Tim Indoor Sports Center, the proposed High Performance Computational Facility will incorporate state-of-the-art liquid immersion cooling technology to maximize efficiency and reduce energy use. The facility design incorporates large data halls to house high performance servers and supercomputing equipment, along with all necessary building infrastructure. With eight floors of dedicated space, this central research facility will serve as a hub for computational research and development at HKUST, supporting innovation and technological advancement across the University.
